Rooted Systems is a public benefit corporation that provides IT and security support to nonprofits and mission-driven organizations. This page explains what this website collects and what we do with it. It covers rootedsystems.tech only. The work we do for clients is covered by each client agreement.
Summary
- We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not track you across sites. There are no advertising trackers or social media pixels, and our own pages set no cookies.
- The only personal information we collect here is what you type into the contact form.
- We use it to reply to you and to manage our relationship with your organization. We do not sell it or share it for marketing.
The contact form
The contact form is provided by 17hats, the tool we use to manage inquiries and client records. When you submit it, what you enter, such as your name, email address, organization and message, is stored in our 17hats account. 17hats handles it on our behalf under its privacy policy. The form runs inside a frame served by 17hats, which may set its own cookies so the form works.
The form uses Google reCAPTCHA to keep out spam. reCAPTCHA collects information about your device and how you use the form, and sends it to Google. Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
Hosting
Cloudflare hosts this site. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic request details, such as your browser type, the page you asked for and the time, to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. We do not use this information to identify visitors. Cloudflare's privacy policy applies to that processing.
Visit statistics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they read. It loads a small script from Cloudflare that reports the page you viewed, how long it took to load, your browser type and the referring site. It does not use cookies or local storage, and Cloudflare does not use it to follow you across other sites. We only see totals, not individual visitors.
Our fonts and images are served from this site. Apart from the contact form and the visit statistics script, viewing our pages does not send your browser to Google Fonts or any other third party.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiry information while we are in conversation or working together. If we do not end up working together, we delete it after three years. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.
Your choices
You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] or use the contact form. We will respond within 30 days.

Our footer links to our LinkedIn and Instagram pages. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply when you visit them.

If we change how this site handles personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
